Camilla Brunschwyler Armstrong

Montgomery artist, Camilla Brunschwyler Armstrong, has been showing her work in galleries and exhibitions since 1989. Her reputation as a painter was established with her colorful tablescapes, angel messengers, and works which touched upon sacred concepts. Camilla’s first one woman show, Little Altars, which opened at Stonehenge Gallery in 1993, marked the turning of her work towards more personal iconography, symbolism, and metaphor which she calls Journey Paintings. Another one woman show, entitled, ‘Everyday Sacred, saw her work becoming a reflection of her interest in the stillness and solitude. Her representation by Stonehenge in Montgomery,Anne Irwin Fine Art in Buckhead, and Julesplace Art for Living in Boston, has allowed her work to become part of many private and corporate collections throughout the South and Northeast. Her series,The Company I Keep, opened at Julesplace in September,2007. Camilla works in a variety of mediums, often mixing medias like Encaustics/ Printmaking/Drawing. In 2016, after 9 years as a Visual Art Instructor at Montgomery Academy, Camilla returned to her studio practice where she has welcomed the opportunity to fully immerse herself in the creative process.
